About The Position

The Cultural Resources Group Manager leads and supports the efficient delivery of high-quality cultural resources consulting services by overseeing project execution, resource planning, and technical excellence. This role is responsible for the operational success of the Cultural Resources group through staff leadership, technical oversight, quality assurance, process improvement, training, and regulatory compliance while fostering professional development and supporting business growth. Support business development initiatives by identifying opportunities, contributing to proposals, and building and maintaining client relationships through successful project delivery. Ensure financial success at the project and task level while aligning group efforts with the Environmental Platform's direction for growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, History, Architectural History, Historic Preservation, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Meets the Secretary of the Interior's Professional Qualification Standards for Archaeology and/or History, as applicable.
  • Demonstrated experience managing cultural resources projects under Section 106 and NEPA.
  • Experience supervising professional staff and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Strong project management, financial management, communication, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and functional support to Cultural Resources staff.
  • Lead day-to-day operations including staffing, workload balancing, scheduling, and resource planning.
  • Maintain technical excellence across archaeology, history, architectural history, and cultural resource management services.
  • Ensure compliance with Section 106, NEPA, NHPA, and applicable federal, state, tribal, and local requirements.
  • Oversee technical quality, project delivery, budgets, schedules, and client satisfaction.
  • Lead QA/QC for cultural resources deliverables and maintain technical standards and guidance.
  • Develop, mentor, and evaluate staff while supporting career development and succession planning.
  • Support proposals, scopes, schedules, budgets, and business development efforts.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, agencies, SHPOs, THPOs, tribes, and industry partners.
  • Collaborate with Discipline Directors and other Group Managers to support integrated project delivery and resource sharing.
