About The Position

Asbury is seeking a Cultural & Community Engagement Professional to join their team. This role assists in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating the activity programs of the facility. The professional will participate in planned community activities related to the interests of the facility and the needs of the residents. This includes coordinating and planning events, providing ongoing activities, and ensuring external performers and events align with the community's strategic vision. The goal is to offer residents a variety of activities that promote social, spiritual, physical, and cognitive functioning, allowing them choice in attendance.

Requirements

Minimum one (1) year of Therapeutic Activities, Therapeutic Recreation or equivalent experience (through volunteer work, internship, or paid experience) preferably with geriatric residents in a long term care setting.
Bachelors in Therapeutic Recreation, BS or BA preferred, or equivalent experience (through volunteer work, internship, or paid experience) preferably with geriatric residents in a long term care setting.
Must be able to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies / personnel and the general public.

Responsibilities

Assists in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating the activity programs of the facility.
Participates in planned community activities (outings) related to the interests of the facility and the services and needs of the residents.
Coordinates and plans events including scheduling, room reservations, catering requests, room setup, and technical requirements.
Provides ongoing activities (group and self directed) throughout scheduled workday.
Ensures that external performers, entertainers, meetings, and events that are scheduled on campus align with strategic vision of the community, under the direction of the Arts Administrator.
Ensures that residents are offered a variety of activities that promote social, spiritual, physical, and cognitive functioning and are given the choice of attendance.
