About The Position

HealthFitness is seeking a Community Engagement Coordinator to help launch our brand-new site in Omaha, NE opening this October. This role involves building relationships, creating engaging programs and events, and bringing people together to shape the member experience from day one. The role will involve planning and leading engaging fitness and community events, building meaningful relationships with members, and using communication skills through presentations, outreach, and member engagement. The Community Engagement Coordinator will be responsible for the development, planning, coordination, marketing, and/or implementation of designated recreation and fitness programs and events, maximizing participation and engagement. They will manage the program delivery process and teams, ensure all staff are properly trained, monitor quality, and report on program outcomes. The role may also include participating in program delivery and performing other staff responsibilities such as instructing group exercise classes, attending facility events, and fitness floor coverage and facility oversight.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or higher in Exercise Science, Recreation, Kinesiology or related discipline and 1+ years related experience or equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience.
  • OSHA compliant Adult/First Aid/CPR/AED from American Red Cross, American Heart Association, National Safety Council, or American Safety & Health Institute.
  • Industry recognized Group Exercise certification from ACE, AFAA/NASM, ACSM, NCCPT or NETA; if not current, will be required within 60 days of hire.
  • NCCA Accredited Personal Trainer certification from an Industry recognized and HealthFitness approved agency; if not current, will be required within 60 days of hire.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading, coordinating and delivering effective programs including budgeting, marketing, and promotions.
  • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work demands.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills including the ability to motivate others.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including at minimum Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team with enthusiasm, initiative, and creativity.
  • Applicants must meet hiring requirements including but not limited to pre-employment drug test.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees all programming within designated areas; develops, coordinates, manages, implements, and evaluates recreation and fitness programs within specified program areas to maximize participation, outcomes and customer satisfaction and supervision of programs, services, and staff.
  • Ensures staff is properly trained and certified.
  • Facilitates the close alignment of programs with the client’s business needs, employee culture and corporate health strategies.
  • Coordinates marketing of programs to maximize outreach and engagement; develops and distributes electronic and print promotional materials to communicate program offerings and special events.
  • Gathers program outcomes data and measures results; evaluates and reports on program effectiveness in meeting objectives and makes recommendations for future program enhancements or modifications.
  • Participates in business planning and budgeting process relating to program and service offerings in their area of expertise.
  • Provides individual and group exercise instruction as applicable; educates participants on proper techniques to maximize exercise safety and effectiveness.
