Cultural Arts Specialist (Volunteer Coordinator)
About The Position
The City of Chandler Cultural Development Department is seeking a qualified individual for the role of Cultural Art Specialist at the Chandler Center for the Arts. This is a part-time, regular position with benefits, scheduled for 32 hours per week. The role requires a flexible schedule, potentially including evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on assignments. The position provides specialized program, operational, and administrative support for Cultural Arts programs and facilities. The Chandler Museum is a cultural destination focused on community programs and traveling exhibits, and the Cultural Development Department oversees various cultural drivers in Chandler, including the Chandler Center for the Arts, Chandler Museum, Downtown, Public Art, Special Events, Connection and Impact, and Vision Gallery. The ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration.
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or GED
- 3 years of experience in cultural arts, visual arts, gallery operations, volunteer coordination, performing arts, event operations, recreation, nonprofit or community programming, customer service or a related field; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
- Fingerprinted with successful results as a condition of continued employment.
- Awareness of the City of Chandler’s policies concerning the use of drugs and alcohol, including that the use of recreational marijuana is a violation of the city’s Drug Free Workplace Policy.
Responsibilities
- Provides specialized program, operational and administrative support for Cultural Arts programs and facilities.
