About The Position

Directly supervises food-service associates in accordance with policies, procedures and applicable laws. This is an event-based, part-time position with a starting pay of $19.00 per hour. Availability for afternoons, nights, and weekends, including all Hawks home games and some holidays, is preferred.

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in high-volume or upscale environments.
  • Basic understanding of culinary techniques including grilling, sauteing, roasting, and knife skills.
  • Familiarity with food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Ability to follow recipes, portion guidelines, and prep list accurately.
  • Understand of cooking techniques, food safety, and kitchen equipment.
  • Excellent time management and communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of food prep, plating, kitchen safety, and sanitation.
  • Strong work ethic, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Lift/move materials and equipment up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior supervisor experience is a plus.
  • Willingness to grow into a leadership role.

Responsibilities

  • Trains employees; plans, assigns and directs work; appraises performance; rewards and disciplines associates; addresses complaints and resolves problems.
  • Advises management of purchasing requirements with a focus on minimizing waste and avoiding product shortages.
  • Uses approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control.
  • Operates and cleans equipment in accordance with department procedures after each use.
  • Stores, labels and dates food items according to policy; maintains established food rotations in storage in order to minimize spoilage and waste.
  • Follows HACCP guidelines to ensure quality and safety of food supply.
  • Operates food-service equipment in a safe manner and according to established policies and procedures.
  • Helps serves meals; remains present during scheduled meal periods to receive customer comments and feedback.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
