About The Position

At Bread Alone we are committed to the environment, to the community that has supported us for over 40 years, and our love of craft. Founded in 1983, our artisan Boiceville campus was recently renovated into the nation's first and only carbon-neutral bakery and commissary. As a part of our team, you will work collaboratively and cross functionally between the cafe and high-volume savory commissary to serve exceptional foods.

Requirements

Attention to detail and a focus on daily execution
Prior experience in professional cooking, artisan bread baking, pastry making, or a related discipline is preferred, and a genuine passion and willingness to learn is essential
Flexibility to accommodate scheduling changes as dictated by the needs of the business
Physical endurance to manage extended working periods, standing for long periods of time and handle physical demands
A team-oriented mindset
Respect for and comfort with a diverse and inclusive workplace.
Able to attend all scheduled shifts
Able to stand for long periods of time while executing tasks quickly and accurately
Able to work in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

Work with our culinary team (Pastry Chef, Chef de Cuisine, and Head Baker) to craft a diverse range of food and baked goods for our three Cafes and NYC greenmarkets
Consistently produce items that meet our standards
Uphold cleanliness and safety protocols, in line with our commitment to excellence
Engage in continuous professional growth
Foster a collaborative atmosphere, working closely with a team that shares your passion
Act with integrity, honesty, and professionalism to promote the culture, values, and mission of Bread Alone
