About The Position

This is an "as-needed", non-benefited, position with 8 hour shifts that could vary between days and evenings. Per Diem employees receive an additional 10% premium-pay differential in lieu of benefits, on top of hourly base rate! The role involves assisting Cafe customers, handling cash, operating a cash register, and performing clerical duties. Responsibilities include following cash handling policies and procedures, ensuring proper accountability of monies issued, and completing daily cash reports. The position also requires participating in theme day decorating and wearing appropriate attire. Maintaining an organized work area, following proper quality assurance and infection control procedures when preparing and serving food, and demonstrating proper use, maintenance, and sanitation of all equipment related to the area of responsibility are key. Employees are expected to communicate suggestions, concerns, problems, and unsafe conditions promptly to the appropriate supervisor or manager, and exhibit professional courtesy toward patients, visitors, customers, and employees. Other duties may be assigned based on departmental needs. This float position will have a varying schedule that may include cooking, the Ambassador position, utility, or cash register duties.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED, required
  • Washington Food Handlers Card, required
  • Must be customer service oriented
  • Cash handling experience
  • Must be organized and a quick learner
  • Friendly and a team player is a must!

Nice To Haves

  • Two years in customer service/food industry, preferred
  • Food handling experience and previous barista/coffee experience, preferred
  • Cleaning experience, preferred
