About The Position
Eventide Fargo Care Center in south Fargo, North Dakota, is seeking a full-time Culinary Cook. The role is responsible for preparing and/or directing the preparation of food for residents while complying with applicable sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards and following established food production programs and procedures. The Culinary Cook prepares high-quality meals, supports resident satisfaction during meal service, maintains safe and sanitary kitchen conditions, and helps ensure food and supplies are properly handled and available. The position also oversees catering events and coordinates kitchen and service work to meet meal schedules.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- 1–3 years of previous culinary experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Prepare high-quality meals according to standardized recipes and techniques.
- Use and direct the use of accurate portion-control standards.
- Ensure sanitary conditions are maintained in the kitchen at all times.
- Check menus daily to verify that all necessary items are prepared as needed.
- Store leftovers properly according to food-handling standards.
- Operate equipment correctly, safely, and sanitarily.
- Supervise the dining experience to ensure residents are satisfied with meal service.
- Check food-product temperatures and document them in the temperature log.
- Clean equipment and work areas to meet safety and sanitation standards.
- Complete assigned cleaning tasks according to schedule.
- Inventory and order food products, ensuring adequate supplies are on hand.
- Oversee catering events and ensure the quality, safety, and presentation of catered meals.
- Organize and plan work schedules to meet meal service times.
- Prioritize and shift workload in the event of staff shortages.
- Prompt and direct servers to provide timely meal service.
- Interact appropriately with staff to address or accommodate immediate concerns or problems.
