About The Position

Stew Leonard’s is hiring a seasonal Salad Bar Culinary Assistant. The role involves food preparation, cooking, customer service, and assisting in other department areas such as BBQ and Pizza. The Culinary Assistant sets up and maintains buffet displays, keeps supplies stocked, checks and records food temperatures, packages finished products, and follows health, sanitation, and safety regulations. The position requires applicants to be at least 18 years old and complete two weeks of training.

Requirements

At least 18 years of age.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Complete two weeks of training.
Safely use and operate knives, knife sharpeners, scalers, scales, and wrapping machines.
Excellent customer service.
Good oral communication skills.
Great work ethic, problem-solving ability, and self-motivation.
Flexibility and honesty.

Responsibilities

Set up the buffet according to established standards.
Ensure buffet food items have proper signage.
Refill and rotate buffet food as required.
Wipe down and clean the buffet as needed.
Stock supplies for the hot and cold bar.
Check food temperatures every two hours and document them in the temperature log.
Maintain, fill, and rotate display products while monitoring dates.
Package finished products.
Follow health, sanitation, and safety regulations.
Assist with other duties and in other department areas, including BBQ and Pizza, as assigned.
Greet customers with a friendly smile and positive attitude.
Collaborate with team members and offer assistance and support where needed.
Help maintain store efficiency and represent the store’s S.T.E.W. values.
