About The Position

Vernon Terrace of Edina is seeking a Culinary Assistant to be responsible for dining room and to-go meal service to residents. This position is part-time, working 18 hours every two weeks on a 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM shift, with every other weekend rotation. Vernon Terrace offers a full spectrum of services, including Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care, and is dedicated to ensuring residents enjoy longer, healthier, and more meaningful lives.

Responsibilities

Serves meals and ensures that the dining area is clean and inviting.
Follows meal serving schedule and procedures.
Offers resident meal choices and meets resident’s specific dietary needs.
Uses proper safety and sanitation techniques.
Follows dining room cleaning schedule and procedures.
Follow proper procedures for dining room set-up.
Follows proper work flow to stay on task.
Learns and becomes proficient with EMenu System and restaurant style service.
Ensures all dishes (including flatware, drinkware, etc.) are washed, sanitized, and put away before end of shift.
Promotes and encourages positive resident relations and satisfaction.
Welcomes residents and initiates conversation.
Accommodates resident requests such as requests for food substitution, change in seating, etc.
Listens to any complaints and responds appropriately. Refers issues to Executive Director and Culinary Director as appropriate.
