About The Position

The Culinary Assistant-Cook provides assistance with dietary functions as directed and in accordance with established Culinary Operations policies and procedures. The role supports meal preparation and service, food safety and sanitation, dining-room and kitchen upkeep, and catering or buffet functions. The position contributes to residents’ experience by providing Platinum Service to residents, guests, and staff.

Deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies or personnel, and the public.
Be capable of working with ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset people within the facility.
Communicate sufficiently and effectively with supervisors, team members, residents, and families.

Nice To Haves

Food service and/or hospitality experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Serve meals that are appetizing in appearance and follow established portion-control procedures.
Provide Platinum Service to residents, guests, and staff.
Prepare food in accordance with sanitary regulations and established policies and procedures.
Assist with daily and scheduled cleaning duties.
Set up meal trays, food carts, and the dining room as instructed.
Distribute and collect menus as necessary.
Set up and prepare food and menus for upcoming meals.
Assist with bussing tables during and after meals.
Check meal trays for accuracy before distribution and ensure appropriate equipment and utensils are provided.
Deliver food carts and trays to designated areas.
Assist with setting up and refilling catering and buffet functions.
Prepare and deliver snacks as instructed.
Ensure food and supplies for the next meal are readily available.
Assist with food preparation as requested.
Maintain a clean work area and kitchen by sweeping and mopping as needed.
Assist with cleaning the dining area and backroom kitchen as needed.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
