About The Position

Newton Village, a Cassia community, is hiring a Cook/Culinary Assistant for its dining services team. The role supports meal preparation and cooking, food service, kitchen sanitation, and a positive dining experience for residents. The ideal candidate is dependable, team-oriented, and takes pride in preparing quality meals and providing excellent customer service. This position is full-time, with a listed shift of 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., at 110 N 5th Ave W, Newton, IA 50208.

Requirements

Strong communication skills for interacting with residents and staff.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Basic math skills.
Selected candidates must pass a background check.

Responsibilities

Provide residents and guests with fast, friendly, and excellent customer service.
Prepare and assist with cooking meals according to recipes and quality standards.
Work within the department to provide residents with quality, nutritious meals and service.
Assist with food preparation and serve meals to residents.
Help maintain a clean and sanitary dietary department.
Wash dishes and clean the kitchen and dining rooms.
Assist residents, employees, and guests with a broad range of dietary needs.
Perform other duties as needed.
