About The Position

The CTE Program Coordinator, funded by the Perkins Grant, is a part-time position (up to 24 hours per week) responsible for four core areas: Student Success and Academic Support, Work-based Learning/Career Exploration, Program Management, and Instructional Design. This role focuses on ensuring student access to resources, monitoring progress, aligning career goals with educational pathways, coordinating work-based learning programs, managing administrative functions of CTE programs, and leading curriculum development. The coordinator will collaborate with faculty, business and industry partners, and college administration to support student success and program compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure students’ access to programs, services, and resources.
  • Monitor students' progress using college's retention and advising software.
  • Align students' career goals and educational abilities with appropriate CTE pathways.
  • Identify at-risk students and respond to faculty alerts.
  • Empower advisees to communicate with faculty and student services and develop self-advocacy skills.
  • Connect advisees to resources and support services (financial aid, career services, academic support, disability services).
  • Regularly attend assigned divisional meetings.
  • Remain current with divisional and college policies and procedures.
  • Plan, coordinate, and evaluate WBL programs.
  • Facilitate student internships, job shadows, mentorships, and faculty externships.
  • Maintain a database of stakeholders and opportunities.
  • Advise students, support faculty, and collaborate with business and industry partners.
  • Ensure program compliance with relevant policies and regulations.
  • Promote career readiness through employer engagement, data tracking, and community outreach.
  • Serve as support for the joint advisory committee.
  • Seek and create experiential learning opportunities for students.
  • Manage and design the WBL and ACA 111 course design for the college.
  • Assist in the oversight of daily administrative and operational functions of assigned CTE programs.
  • Ensure alignment with institutional goals and federal compliance guidelines.
  • Manage reporting requirements and track performance indicators for the Perkins Grant.
  • Monitor program expenditures to ensure alignment with grant allocations.
  • Collect, analyze, and report student outcome data to support institutional effectiveness.
  • Assist the Dean and Faculty in planning and facilitating CTE Advisory Committee meetings.
  • Ensure robust engagement with local business, industry, and educational partners.
  • Collaborate with the Dean of Academic Affairs to ensure program activities comply with state curriculum standards and regional accreditation requirements.
  • Actively identify opportunities to scale and sustain program initiatives beyond the grant funding cycle.
  • Lead the development, review, and continuous improvement of high-quality, student-centered curriculum for CTE pathways.
  • Support faculty in course design and development using the college’s LMS.
  • Design engaging, accessible instructional materials for online, hybrid, and face-to-face environments using evidence-based pedagogical frameworks (Quality Matters/OSCQR rubrics, UDL, TILT).
  • Collaborate with faculty to integrate career-readiness competencies and industry-standard technologies into existing coursework.
  • Establish clear, measurable course student learning outcomes (CSLOs).
  • Develop comprehensive evaluation metrics to assess instructional effectiveness.
  • Provide targeted coaching and resources to instructional personnel to promote innovative teaching practices.
