About The Position

Hamilton County Schools is seeking outstanding leaders, teachers, support staff, and district employees who desire to make a difference in the lives of students. This position is responsible for creating a classroom environment that develops skills in Marketing courses. The Marketing, Distribution, and Logistics career cluster prepares learners for careers in planning, managing, and performing marketing activities to reach organizational objectives, as well as careers involved in the planning, management, and movement of people, materials, and products by road, air, rail, and water. Classes within the Supply Chain Management pathway include: Level 1: Introduction to Business and Marketing, Level 2: Supply Chain Management I: Principles & Foundations, Level 3: Supply Chain Management II: Warehousing & Distribution, Level 4: Supply Chain Management III: Management & Logistics OR Supply Chain Management Practicum. Central High School is a 9-12 school located in Harrison, TN, with a rich history and diverse community that promotes acceptance and collaboration. We are looking for teachers who have a sense of purpose and calling to teach and who have a compelling nature, believing that every student is important and motivated to help their students master content and prepare them for post-secondary life.

Requirements

  • Academic Teaching License with one of the following endorsements: (152) Business Education 6-12 or (776) Distribution and Logistics
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills to deal effectively with students, educators, parents, and community members.
  • Demonstrate excellent planning, organizational, problem-solving, decision-making, and time management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Deeply understand the Tennessee Standards for Marketing and establish clear learning targets for every lesson.
  • Build rigorous and aligned assessments and consistently implement high leverage literacy practices.
  • Follow Hamilton County Schools’ instructional framework, including: Ensuring Equity in Actions, Setting High Expectations, Building a Productive Classroom Culture, Responsive Teaching and Learning.
  • Build a safe and productive classroom culture where positive relationships are evident, procedures are clear, and the classroom is safe and secure for learning to unfold. Student and teacher interactions promote a growth mindset.
  • Consistently develop strong relationships with students’ families while diligently informing parents of expectations, positive news, and/or concerns about their children. Provide opportunities for parents to be involved in their children’s learning.
  • Actively participate in professional learning communities (PLCs) with colleagues in order to improve teaching and student learning.
  • Reflect on instruction and leadership while contributing ideas, expertise, and time to the mission and goals of the school.
