About The Position

Performs CT procedures in a variety of settings and locations on patients as ordered by licensed providers. Work must be performed ethically and professionally in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and applicable New York State guidelines. The technologist must assist with all aspects of Radiology Department operations.

This is a full-time, regular bargaining-unit position in the CVPH Radiology Department. The primary shift is 3:00 PM–11:30 PM; a secondary shift of 11:00 PM–7:30 AM is also listed. Weekend work is as scheduled, and the technologist is responsible for CT on-call coverage per the union contract. Standard hours are 40 per week (80 biweekly).

Requirements

• New York State Department of Health license and ARRT registration as a Radiographer.
• Obtain ARRT (CT) credentials within two years; eligibility requirements are reviewed with the employee and manager or supervisor.
• If registration or credentialing is not successfully completed within the required timeframe, obtain it within the granted six-month extension.
• New York State Department of Health certification to inject IV contrast within two months of completing orientation.
• Sensitivity and interpersonal skills to work professionally and compassionately with apprehensive patients and families.
• Positive and effective communication skills for interacting with physicians and staff.
• Ability to think and act quickly to deliver efficient, quality care in stressful situations.
• BLS certification, or obtain it within three months.

Nice To Haves

• One year of Radiographer experience preferred.
