About The Position

The CT Technologist will be responsible for confirming patient identity and exam verification prior to initiating the scan, strictly adhering to department policy and procedure for patient safety. This role involves coordinating with physicians to provide diagnostic imaging, preparing patients for scans, explaining procedures, and inserting IVs when necessary. The technologist will position patients, which may include lifting or moving patients with limited mobility, utilizing safe patient handling techniques. Accurate patient record keeping is essential, including documenting within EPIC, identifying images, and ensuring images are sent to the PACS system correctly. Maintaining a clean and safe scanning facility is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

  • Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology and maintains Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • NYS licensure (must obtain PRIOR to starting position)
  • Two (2) Years' Experience
  • Level 1 Trauma Center Experience
  • BLS (American Heart Association ONLY)

Nice To Haves

  • Injection certification preferred-must be willing to complete during orientation process.
  • Knowledge of Philips and Siemens equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for scans and explain the procedure to help them feel comfortable.
  • Insert IVs when necessary for the test.
  • Positions patients accordingly, which may include lifting or moving patients with limited mobility; must utilize safe patient handling.
  • Maintains accurate patient record keeping by properly documenting all necessary components within EPIC to include identifying images and assuring images are sent to the PACS system correctly upon exam completion.
  • Maintain a clean and safe scanning facility.
