The CT Technologist is responsible for serving as a patient advocate, ensuring timely scheduling and providing education to patients before, during, and after CT exams. They maintain positive relationships with patients, other departments, physicians, and associates, and actively participate in improving patient satisfaction by reviewing data, resolving complaints, and submitting ideas for improvement. The role also involves ensuring the production of quality CT scans, operating CT equipment appropriately, maintaining safety in all areas (electrical, environmental, radiation), and completing all necessary data entries in HIS and RIS. The technologist is expected to participate in departmental CQI indicators and submit ideas for quality improvement. They are also accountable for assessing their own learning needs, seeking appropriate training, and setting learning goals to meet required training hours. Additionally, the role encourages submitting innovative ideas and implementing 'Just-Do-It' initiatives, participating in hospital-wide and departmental activities, and attending staff meetings. Productivity, cost containment, and revenue generation are also areas of focus, with expectations to participate in efforts to improve these aspects and submit relevant ideas. The position requires ARRT eligibility and some scanning experience, with the ability to complete most CT procedures and be ARRT Registered.
