About The Position

Perform CT scans on predominately outpatients at the Laurel Street Pavilion CT scanner. Able to start IVs and inject IV contrast. Proficient with computers and IT, able to process patient throughput on EPIC and other computer programs. Able to work efficiently in an outpatient setting.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of radiologic technology.
  • One year of radiologic experience.
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Licensed by the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association.
  • Able to produce very high-quality special imaging with little supervision.
  • Familiar with age specific criteria.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
  • 0-2 years of modality specific experience.
  • ARRT CT Registration required within 1 year in position.

  • Ability to match or discriminate between colors (Continuous).
  • Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception (Continuous).
  • Good peripheral vision capabilities (Continuous).
  • Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction (Continuous).
  • Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements (Continuous).
  • Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations (Continuous).
  • Ability to work in a latex safe environment (Continuous).
  • Ability to maintain tactile sensory functions (Continuous).
  • Ability to be qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required (Continuous).

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high quality CT examinations in accordance with established protocols on patient populations ranging from neonate through geriatrics for interpretation by a physician.
  • Start IVs and inject IV contrast.
  • Process patient throughput on EPIC and other computer programs.
  • Function effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Maintain and renew ARRT, state license, BLS, PPD, respirator fit test, and POC training.
  • Obtain ARRT Computed Tomography Registration within 1 year of hire date.
