About The Position

At The Glen, our nurses provide clinical leadership to the household and perform nursing functions within the household to ensure the provision of effective daily care & services to each resident in accordance with their assessment, choices and plan of care. Requirements

  • Licensure as an LPN in Louisiana, unencumbered and must maintain license renewal.
  • 1+ years' experience in nursing (long term care preferred).
  • CPR certified.
  • IV certified.
  • Commitment to person directed care.
  • Excellent computer skills and able to use EHR, MS Outlook, and phone/fax.
  • Proficient in use of medical terminology.

Nice To Haves

  • Specialized training or experience in dementia care and geriatric nursing preferred.

  • Advocates for the needs of the household, residents, families, or staff.
  • Provides clear directions and explanations, eliciting trust and cooperation from staff.
  • Communicates resident's medical needs clearly with staff and families, and facilitates staff participation in medical care.
  • Communicates clearly and effectively with physicians.
  • Performs nursing functions within the household to ensure the provision of effective daily care and services to each resident in accordance with their assessment, choices and plan of care.
  • Works successfully both independently and with the care team in household settings.
  • Thinks "outside the box" and develops individualized care as indicated.
