Requirements

  • Technical School Diploma Graduate of accredited Radiography program or equivalent or CNMT, RT(CT) Certified
  • Less than 1 year experience as a Radiologic Technologist
  • Ability to provide proper patient care essential to radiologic procedures.
  • Knowledge and skills to perform scans on patients of all ages, adapting to various protocols.
  • Proficient use of the advanced software for CT scanning and post procedure processing applications.
  • Strong aptitude for CT technology.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, positive attitude, and upbeat demeanor.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania within 30 Days
  • RT - Registered Technologist Radiology - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire or CNMT - Certified Nuclear Med Tech NMTCB - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
  • CT - Computed Tomography ARRT - State of Pennsylvania within 1 Year

Responsibilities

  • Performs all types of imaging procedures and operates all equipment safely and properly including scanners, injectors, and monitors.
  • Reviews all images of all exams, repeating images as necessary for best possible result.
  • Communicates with the patient by addressing the patient by name, introducing self to the patient, explaining the exam in lay terms and keeping the patient informed of exam progress.
  • Prepares patient images to PACs for interpretation by a radiologist and administers contrast media per protocol.
  • Completes technical notes, verifies images, and sends exams to PACS promptly.
  • Notifies physician of any adverse reaction to contrast media or change in patient's condition.
  • Reviews patient chart/script prior to initiating exam to verify pertinent information.
  • Prepares patients for CT procedures by accurately assessing patient’s needs, medical history, and provides patient education.
  • Operates computed tomography scanner for data acquisition, reconstruction of images, documentation of images, and performs quality control measures for the purpose of ensuring optimal quality images.
  • Attends department meetings or other mandatory meetings with a positive attitude.
  • Practices accurate and timely completion of scheduled and unscheduled work to maximize productivity.
  • Performs CT scans of designated anatomy using professional judgment while imaging with regard to technical quality according to physician specifications.
  • Provides courteous and professional delivery of CT technical exams and procedures while adhering to radiation safety precautions.
  • Supports patient questions and concerns regarding exam procedures and process, while maintaining appropriate confidentiality regarding PHI and HIPPA related information.
  • On-call as required by the department.
  • Works in a hospital facility that offers full hospital services.
  • Provides direct patient care to high acuity patients encompassing emergency, inpatient and outpatient classes supporting up to and including trauma and ICU.
