About The Position

Under the supervision of the radiologist, this position provides patients with various types of CT procedures.

Requirements

  • Proven venipuncture skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, interactive and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with doctors, nurses, technologists and support staff.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a stressful environment.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, and the ability to work independently without specific supervision in a self-confident manner.
  • Must be professional, courtesy and must have a positive attitude.
  • All post high school education must have been obtained from a recognized College or University.
  • Additional education may be substituted for experience requirements should the substitution not conflict with State or Board certification/license requirements.
  • Associates Degree in Radiology Required
  • Successful completion of a clinical rotation through a CT Program at an accredited college Required
  • Active Indiana Radiologic Technologist License Required
  • ARRT (CT) Computed Tomography Registration through The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Required
  • ARRT (R) Radiography Registration through The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Required
  • Certified Basic Life Saving Certification Required
  • Meets the Standards of Behavior as outlined in Personnel Policy and Procedure #1, Employee Relations Code.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of procedures for protecting and maintaining security, confidentiality and integrity of employee, patient, family, organizational and other medical information.
  • Understands and supports the commitment of Methodist Hospitals in adhering to federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations governing ethical business practices for healthcare providers.

Responsibilities

  • Performs CT procedures.
  • Obtains guidance from the radiologist when order appears unclear or inappropriate.
  • Obtains pertinent histories and explains exam results to patient.
  • Procures results on Stat exams and calls results.
  • Answers all phone calls and schedules special procedures.
  • Maintains work area and equipment.
  • Helps to train and orientate new staff and students to job functions.
