About The Position

This position has been designated as safety sensitive and cannot be filled by a candidate who is a current user of medical marijuana. The CT Technologist II has developed the knowledge to perform quality CT exams in a safe and timely manner while providing excellent patient care. This role involves verifying exams as ordered by a physician, performing correct scan protocols to decrease radiation exposure, and adhering to radiation safety recommendations, including patient shielding (ALARA). The technologist will administer IV and oral contrast, explain exams/procedures to patients and families, and ensure the work area is properly maintained. Additionally, the role requires staying current with new CT technologies, maintaining equipment, requesting service as needed, and complying with all TJC, state, federal, and local regulatory laws, standards, and protocols. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • 2 years CT Tech experience
  • Radiologic Technologist License (RTL) - Arkansas Department of Health
  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college program or technical school or nursing diploma

Nice To Haves

  • ARRT - Computed Tomography (CT) - American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT)
  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
  • Direct - Pediatric experience

Responsibilities

  • Verifies exams as ordered by physician.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge to perform correct scan protocols in an effort to decrease radiation exposure to patients.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and adherence to all radiation safety recommendations, including patient shielding. ALARA
  • Properly administers IV and oral contrast.
  • Explains exams/procedures to patients and families.
  • Ensures that work area is properly maintained.
  • Keeps current of new and evolving technologies in CT.
  • Maintains equipment and requests service as needed.
  • Complies with all TJC, state, federal, and local regulatory laws, standards, and protocols.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
