Under the direction of the Director of Medical Imaging Services, works closely with the Chief/Lead Technologist and Radiologists to perform diagnostic computerized tomography (CT) examinations, contributing to the efficient operation of the department and promoting the philosophy of the organization, to ensure the quality and continuity of patient care for patients of all ages. Performs and records quality control data for departmental equipment, reporting needs for repairs or preventative maintenance. Participates in performance improvement areas that are identified.

Requirements

  • LIC-American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Licensure-Others
  • Relevant Work Experience
  • Graduate of an approved discipline specific program

Responsibilities

  • Operate CT related radiographic equipment, perform radiological procedures, operate the PACS and utilize radiographic supplies per department standards.
  • Participate in On Call requirements, supporting CT services in the Medical Imaging Department, as well as back-up support for 2nd and 3rd shifts in Diagnostic Radiology.
  • Manage the work flow of the department to ensure the completion of work assignments.
  • Identify each patient, review orders for consistency (examination ordered/clinical diagnosis) and record pertinent data in RIS/PACS at all times.
  • Review each examination for technical accuracy, present completed examination to Radiologist, and communicate pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of the patient following the procedure.
  • Demonstrate ability to organize patient care and set priorities by providing critical care first and by implementing the physician’s orders.
  • Implement care in a knowledgeable, skillful, consistent, and continuous manner to ensure the delivery of quality care according to age specific guidelines ranging from infancy to geriatrics.
  • Adhere to all department/Hospital safety procedures for patient and material handling.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of and adherence to Compliance and Ethics Program.
