Nebraska Methodist Health System is seeking a CT/Diagnostic Tech Advanced to produce images of the human body for medical diagnostic purposes. This role involves performing diagnostic and Computed Tomography (CT) imaging examinations at Methodist Women's Hospital. Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved American Medical Association School of Radiologic Technology required.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registered in Radiography (R) required.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registered in Computed Tomography (CT) required.
  • Current Medical Radiographer license for work state required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate and interact with patients and family members as well as hospital personnel and coworkers.
  • Must have analytical skills necessary to compute exposure factors and the ability to perform numerous tasks at once.
  • Adept at working with pediatric patients.
  • Strong knowledge in cross sectional anatomy for CT exams and abnormalities of exams is essential.

Nice To Haves

  • One year experience in CT or a graduate from an approved CT/MRI program preferred.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) strongly preferred at time of hire, required within 3 months of hire.
  • Technologists who have completed clinical training and are Computed Tomography (CT) board eligible will be considered with the understanding that the registry will be passed within 12 months of hire.
  • New technologists who require clinical training to become Computed Tomography (CT) board eligible will be considered with the understanding that the advanced board certification is required within 12 months at the completion of clinical training.

Responsibilities

  • Provides care for the optimal patient experience, demonstrating service orientation, effective communication with empathy, compassion, and respect, and active listening.
  • Provides appropriate patient care as outlined in the "Age specific criteria", ensuring patient comfort and understanding of ordered exams, and showing confidence and competency in all age specific categories.
  • Performs diagnostic and Computed Tomography (CT) imaging examinations, ensuring optimal visualization of anatomy by directing radiographic equipment, and assisting with procedures.
  • Utilizes RIS/Cerner/Navicare/PACS/Outlook/Intranet/Powerscribe systems, ensuring Powerchart availability, knowledge of order entry, matching digital images to RIS orders, starting and completing exams, using Exam Management, documenting medications and allergies, and consistently using Powerscribe.
  • Assists in maintaining appropriate par levels of supplies, accurately verifies patient identification, properly identifies anatomical orientation on all films, and cleans and disinfects equipment.
  • Maintains positive and respectful relationships with team members, understands and supports department workflow, is available at the start of scheduled shifts, and relieves coworkers as needed.
  • Provides and monitors "on the job training" per Methodist College Standards and maintains a professional and courteous relationship with students and instructors.
  • Effectively demonstrates MHS and Imaging Behavior Standards and follows the department Policy & Procedures Manual.
