About The Position

This position is for a Bilingual Therapist II (Clinical Services Caseworker) within the Comprehensive Outpatient Recovery Program (CORP) team at Prince William County Community Services. The role focuses on providing meaningful, evidence-based treatment services to Spanish-speaking individuals with substance use disorders and serious mental illness. The Therapist II delivers interventions in group and individual settings to address challenges such as substance use histories, serious mental illness, trauma, poverty, and social stressors. The caseload will consist of 30-40 clients, and the Therapist II will collaborate with community partners, law enforcement, medical providers, and social service agencies to improve client outcomes. The position offers complimentary onsite licensure supervision, professional development, and a full benefits package. The caseload will include both Spanish and English-language dominant individuals. Communication with supervisors and participation in meetings are required.

Requirements

Master's Degree in social work, counseling, or a related behavioral science field.
1 year of experience providing services to seriously mentally ill adults and those with substance use and co-occurring disorders (9 months of supervised experience can be counted as 1 year).
Ability to obtain a license in the Commonwealth of Virginia as an LPC or LCSW within 4 years of employment.
Bilingual – ability to read, write, and speak fluent English and Spanish.
Must possess a valid driver's license without any restrictions.
Must pass DMV record check.
Must pass TB test.
Must pass and maintain first aid and CPR certification.
Must pass a fingerprint-based National Criminal History Record Check.
Must pass a search of the registry of founded complaints of child abuse and neglected.

Nice To Haves

Experience providing evidence-based individual/group therapy services in a human services environment to substance-using and co-occurring clients in the pre-contemplative and contemplative stages of change.
Experience using DSM 5 for assessment and diagnosis of conditions requiring treatment.
Experience developing individualized treatment plans based on a client’s presenting needs and preferences.
Experience managing crisis situations.
Experience connecting clients to resources in the community.
Experience with recovery in a harm-reduction model, motivational interviewing, and stages of change theory.
Experience keeping excellent clinical documentation in an electronic health record.

Responsibilities

Deliver evidence-based interventions in group and individual settings to address substance use, serious mental illness, trauma, poverty, and social stressors.
Manage a caseload of 30-40 clients.
Collaborate with community partners, law enforcement agencies, medical providers, and social service agencies on behalf of clients.
Communicate with supervisors as needed.
Participate in weekly supervision meetings, team meetings, and staff meetings.
