About The Position

Harvard Protection Services is a privately owned provider of security services that emphasizes employee support and customer service. The Crossing Guard is responsible for helping students and pedestrians safely cross designated streets and intersections before and after school. The role requires maintaining a visible presence, monitoring traffic and the surrounding environment, following safety procedures, and assisting students and motorists while remaining alert and attentive. Duties may vary depending on the assigned customer location.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Reliable means of communication and transportation.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Neat and professional appearance.
• Remain alert and attentive while on duty.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional demeanor while aiding customers, employees, visitors, and guests.
• Maintain a visible presence at the assigned facility or building.
• Monitor the environment and detect suspicious or unsafe activity.
• Become familiar with incoming and outgoing traffic and recognize customers, tenants, visitors, and guests.
• Greet customers, visitors, staff, tenants, and guests professionally.
• Know and enforce facility or building policies and procedures within the limits of the position.
• Help ensure the safe passage of students and pedestrians across designated streets and intersections before and after school.
• Monitor traffic, follow safety procedures, and assist students and motorists while remaining alert.
