About The Position

Assists engineers in applying technical principles of metrology to test systems and processes. The role provides product and component testing using measurement devices ranging from hand gauges and multimeters to complex systems such as Coordinate Measurement Machines and Multifunction Calibrators. It also serves as a technical resource to lab managers, engineers, and customers in interpreting product requirements, selecting current test methods and technology, and analyzing measurement data. The technician programs, trains users on, and operates measurement and test equipment; develops and documents test methods and procedures; manages lab consumable purchases; maintains a precise and orderly work area; and ensures proper maintenance and calibration of equipment. The role supports health, safety, environmental, and quality compliance, works with and trains apprentices and technicians, interfaces with customers, suppliers, engineers, and other functions, coordinates programs, participates in improvement projects and audits, and develops presentations for customers and suppliers. Approximately 30% of the role involves hands-on support outside the Global Position Profile. This includes preparing and tracking service kits, coordinating shipments and returns, supporting field tests, performing approved CCU reflashes, maintaining inventory, and following up with branches and technicians. Technical decisions, warranty approvals, repair direction, and customer commitments remain with the responsible Service Engineer.
