About The Position

This is a coaching position for the Fall 2026-2027 season.

Requirements

• A valid New York State teaching certificate in Physical Education (K-12) or another classroom subject area, a Professional Coaching Certificate, or eligibility for a Temporary Coaching License
• Valid and acceptable First Aid, CPR, and AED certificates for coaches at the time of appointment
• Identification and Reporting of Child Abuse coursework
• SAVE coursework
• DASA coursework
• Concussion coursework
• Willingness to enroll in and complete the Coaching Course Options within the first two years of coaching
• Fingerprinted and cleared for employment through the NYS Education Department before employment begins

Nice To Haves

• Years of overall coaching experience
• Years of coaching experience in a specific sport
• Years of coaching experience at various levels (Youth Organizations, Modified, Junior Varsity and/or Varsity)
• Performance in previous coaching positions
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and positively with students and parents
• Demonstrated ability to develop and manage a strong grade 7-12 athletic program

Responsibilities

• Oversee an in-season and off-season conditioning and strength program
• Expand and develop an in-community feeder program
• Develop a unified and committed coaching staff
• Emphasize academics, sportsmanship, and chemical-free sports participation
• Encourage multiple sport participation by team members
