About The Position

Walsh Jesuit High School is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Assistant Cross Country Coach to support the Head Coach in all aspects of the program. The ideal candidate will bring previous experience coaching at the high school and/or college-level, along with a demonstrated ability to build meaningful relationships with young men and women while fostering their growth. This role includes helping to build a positive, inclusive, and student-centered culture aligned with the mission of Walsh Jesuit while promoting teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, and personal growth.

Requirements

• Previous experience coaching at the high school and/or college-level
• Demonstrated ability to build meaningful relationships with young men and women while fostering their growth
• Ability to build a positive, inclusive, and student-centered culture aligned with the mission of Walsh Jesuit
• Ability to promote teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, and personal growth
• Excellent communication and planning skills

Nice To Haves

• Ability to develop student-athletes both athletically and personally in a faith-based educational environment
• Familiarity with OHSAA rules and regulations

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and conducting practices
• Teach and reinforce fundamentals, skills, and techniques
• Provide small group and individual instruction
• Support strategy
• Work under the direction of the Head Coach
• Build positive relationships with student-athletes
• Reinforce team expectations, culture, and sportsmanship
• Assist with tryouts and athlete evaluations
• Support eligibility tracking, equipment, and program logistics
• Contribute to off-season training
• Communicate regularly with the Head Coach
• Provide feedback to athletes
• Maintain professional interactions with parents and staff
