About The Position
Teach as a Cross Categorical Teacher at Goose Creek Elementary for the 2026–2027 school year. The position is classified under Early Childhood/Elementary School Teaching and Special Education Cross Categorical. The schedule is 190 days, with compensation based on the Teacher Salary Schedule (columns marked “A”). Candidates must be eligible for South Carolina teacher certification. Required application documents must be uploaded; documents submitted by other means will not be accepted. Berkeley County School District requires a negative tuberculosis (TB) test result before employment begins. Applicants may upload the test result if available or upload a statement indicating they will provide it at new-hire orientation. Current BCSD employees must upload that statement. The TB test result must be submitted at new-hire orientation, without exception.
Requirements
- Must be eligible for a South Carolina teaching certificate.
- Upload a letter of interest.
- Upload a resume.
- Upload a valid teaching certificate from South Carolina or another state, or passing exam scores.
- Provide three completed confidential professional references.
- New graduates must provide a reference from a cooperating teacher and a supervising professor.
- Experienced teachers must provide a reference from their most recent supervisor.
- Provide a negative TB test result before employment begins; if unavailable at application, upload a statement that it will be provided at new-hire orientation. Current BCSD employees must upload this statement.
- Submit the TB test result at new-hire orientation.
