Cross-Border Long-Haul Class 1/AZ Driver
About The Position
Bison Transport is seeking experienced Class 1/AZ Drivers for a cross-border long-haul position. This role involves running open-board Canada/U.S. long-haul, requiring drivers to be on the road 5 to 10 days at a time, averaging 12,000 miles per month. Resets will be done on the road as required. Freight can travel to any of the lower 48 states southbound and any Canadian Provinces and Territories northbound. Drivers will be required to drive on Highway 17 in Ontario and U.S. Mountains 12 months of the year. The assigned unit requires 24 days on the road per month, and regional freight will also be required. A flexible schedule with weekend departures is necessary. Drivers must be able to haul all commodities, including meat and alcohol. Bison Transport offers weekly, on-time pay and a $750 sign-on bonus.
Requirements
- Company Driver with 24 months tractor-trailer experience.
- Must be U.S. qualified.
- Minimum of 6 months U.S. driving experience.
- Minimum of 6 months Highway 17 experience.
- Must be able to work weekends.
- Must have a valid Class 1/AZ License.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. or more.
- Must be reliable, flexible, and punctual.
- Must have strong communication skills.
- Must value safety.
- Must be registered with the Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.
Responsibilities
- Drive open-board, Canada/U.S. long-haul.
- Be on the road 5 to 10 days at a time.

- Assist with driver assist on occasion, which may involve lifting 50 lbs. or more.
