About The Position

The Crop Claims Internship offers an opportunity to learn how crop insurance supports America's farmers. Interns will assist with claim-related activities while working closely with producers, agents, adjusters, and business partners across the organization. The role combines field and office experiences, providing exposure to agricultural operations, crop loss evaluation, data analysis, and customer service. Successful candidates will develop industry knowledge, communication skills, and professional relationships while gaining insight into how crop insurance helps farmers manage risk and recover from unexpected losses. Application Timeline: We know waiting can be difficult, so we want to set expectations upfront. Our internship recruiting process takes place over several months. Applications open in mid-September and are reviewed as they are received. HR interviews are expected to begin in mid-October, followed by interviews with hiring leaders. Depending on the role and applicant volume, hiring decisions and offers may be made anytime from October through January. We appreciate your patience throughout the process and will communicate updates as they become available. How does this role make an impact? Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Crop Science, Business, Communications, or a related field.
  • Must be able to work full-time hours from late May 2027 to early August 2027.
  • Graduation date of August 2027 or beyond.
  • Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with farmers, agents, and business partners.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to learn and adapt in a collaborative work environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Agricultural experience through farming, agricultural employment, family farming operations, FFA, 4-H, or a similar agricultural background.
  • Interest in agriculture, crop insurance, risk management, and serving the farming community.
  • The internship may be extended part-time through fall 2027 and spring 2028.
