About The Position

This role involves providing coverage for high-risk deliveries and neonatal stabilization according to NRP guidelines. The CRNP will evaluate patients for Special Care Nursery (SCN) admission, provide evidence-based care to admitted infants, and manage their health history and physical assessments. This includes ordering and interpreting diagnostic data, planning management in consultation with a neonatologist, and performing necessary procedures. The position also requires coordinating discharges and transfers, supporting families, collaborating with ancillary staff for discharge planning, and assisting with RN staff education. The CRNP will also support ED and Newborn Services and participate in interdisciplinary meetings to improve patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Attend and provide coverage for high-risk deliveries and neonatal stabilization in accordance within NRP guidelines.
  • Evaluate and identify patients meeting Special Care Nursery (SCN) admission criteria.
  • Provide evidence-based care to infants admitted to the SCN.
  • Obtain, record, and interpret complete health history.
  • Perform comprehensive physical assessments, order and interpret diagnostic data, and plan management in consultation with the attending neonatologist.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures per established protocols.
  • Coordinate discharge/transfer to tertiary care facilities.
  • Communicate and provide support to families.
  • Collaborate with Case Management and ancillary staff for optimal care and discharge planning.
  • Assist with the education of the RN staff in the SCN as needed.
  • Support the ED and Newborn Service in neonatal patient care management.
  • Participate in monthly OB/SCN /Newborn meetings to align care and improve outcomes.
  • Other duties as assigned.
