About The Position

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) for Marymount Hospital. The anesthesiology team at Marymount Hospital collaborates to deliver the highest level of patient care across a wide range of cases, including orthopedics, general surgery, urology, endocrine, endoscopy, vascular, thoracic, ECT, MRI, plastics, and bronchoscopy. This position is open to both experienced and new graduate CRNAs. Schedule options include five 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts. No nights, weekends, holidays, or call. This role is primarily based at Marymount Hospital, with occasional floating to Medina, Marymount ASC, and Strongsville as needed.

Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited CRNA program.
  • Must have a current licensure as a registered nurse (RN) and a certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA) from the Ohio Board of Nursing.
  • Must have current certification and continued professional certification (CPC) with the National Board of Certification Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) and State Board of Nursing endorsement.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) are required.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through American Heart Association (AHA) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) through American Academy of Pediatrics certifications may be required based upon work setting.
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment.

  • Requires full range of motion; manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time and the ability to lift and transport patients.
  • Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
  • Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.
  • Ability to work under extreme pressure.
  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Responsibilities

  • Administers anesthetic care for the purpose of facilitating diagnostic, therapeutic and surgical procedures.
  • Administers anesthesia to patients rendering them insensitive to pain during surgery.
  • Monitors the patient's physical reaction to the anesthetic and informs the physician of any adverse condition.
  • Administers emergency measures when complications arise.
  • Performs and documents a pre-anesthetic assessment and evaluation of the patient.
  • Develops and implements an anesthetic plan of care, including monitoring modalities and post-anesthesia follow-up evaluation and care.
  • Selects, obtains and administers the anesthetic plan of care, including induction, maintenance and emergence phase anesthesia.
  • Recognizes alterations in physiologic responses to the surgical procedure and/or the anesthetic, takes appropriate action and notifies the responsible physician as indicated.
  • Other duties as assigned.
