About The Position

Amazon Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network, aiming to deliver fast, reliable internet globally. The Leo satellite constellation is a key part of this mission. The success of Leo relies on the quality, reliability, cost, manufacturability, throughput, and security of its products. This role is for a mid-level Critical Lift Technician on the back half (Wed-Sat) 1st shift, focusing on development and production integration of the Leo satellite in final integration. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, enjoys solving high-impact problems, and is motivated by building something from scratch, demonstrating high standards of execution.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
1+ years in a high traceability manufacturing environment, or relevant trade school certification
1+ years using hand tools and/or precision measuring instruments (i.e., Calipers, multi-meters, torque wrenches)
1+ years working with test tools and test methods that adequately validate the system
Experience reading, interpreting and working from engineering documentation and/or drawings
Willing to work all shifts, overtime and weekends as needed
Able to climb and down ladders, work in tight spaces, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching
Able to lift at least 50 lbs. unassisted
Must be 18 years or older with the ability to understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

Nice To Haves

Experience in the aerospace industry, construction, military, energy or other high-reliability operating environment using heavy-lift equipment
Experience in a fast-paced production environment
Experience working with FOD, ESD sensitive hardware and clean room requirements
A demonstrated ability in reading/understanding technical drawings, work instructions and standard operating procedures
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment
Experience working with Electro-Mechanical Assembly, Final Integration, Fiber Optics/Optical and/or Harness Integration
1+ Years Crane operation experience - Bridge, Jib, Mobile
1+ Years Rigging experience
1+ Years Forklift operator experience

Responsibilities

Perform and lead rigging and critical lifts of bulky, sensitive hardware
Develop a deep knowledge of proper and safe rigging uses for both Lifting and Handling gear
Obtain licenses as a crane, forklift, aerial work platform and specialty crane operator
Operate and maintain cranes, forklifts, aerial work platforms and specialty cranes in a clean-room environment
Run pre-lift safety briefings with up to 10 people
Use precision calibrated tools – torque wrenches, multi-meters, optical inspection devices, micrometers and calipers
Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
Perform work according to procedures, specifications, and test instructions
Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to develop and document activities, including continuous improvement opportunities
Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient, safe and effective work environment
Execution of assigned tasks based on production requirements and priorities
Communicate production blockers and process changes to engineers and leadership
Attend daily meetings to discuss priorities, safety, and quality issues or concerns
