About The Position

Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities around the world, and we’ve designed the system with the capacity, flexibility, and performance to serve a wide range of customers, from individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity. We are looking for talented technicians to help full-scale production of the Amazon Leo satellites. The success of Leo depends on the quality, reliability, cost, manufacturability, throughput, and security of the products that you deliver. Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years in a high traceability manufacturing environment, or relevant trade school certification
  • 1+ years using hand tools and/or precision measuring instruments (i.e., Calipers, multi-meters, torque wrenches)
  • 1+ years working with test tools and test methods that adequately validate the system
  • Experience reading, interpreting and working from engineering documentation and/or drawings
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
  • Must be 18 years or older with the ability to understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines.

Nice To Haves

  • Aircraft & Powerplant (A&P) certification/license
  • CFOT certification or equivalent experience
  • Airman or Avionic certification or equivalent experience
  • ASE certification or equivalent experience
  • Experience in fast-paced production environment with flight hardware
  • Experience working with FOD, ESD sensitive hardware and clean room requirements
  • Experience working with Electro-Mechanical Assembly, Final Integration, Fiber Optics/Optical and/or Harness Integration
  • Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment

Responsibilities

  • Follow work instructions and safety procedures
  • Assemble and test with emphasis to detail, an assortment of LRUs, electrical-mechanical assemblies, avionics, or other complex aerospace builds
  • Use precision calibrated tools – torque wrenches, multimeters, optical inspection devices, micrometers and calipers
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Perform work according to procedures, specifications, and test instructions
  • Run functional and environmental testing on units
  • Use computer software programs for conducting tests
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to develop and document activities, including continuous improvement opportunities
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient, safe and effective work environment
