About The Position

BGIS is seeking a Critical Facility Engineer to join its team in Hoover, Alabama. The role maintains critical mechanical, electrical, and control systems in a critical-environment facility. BGIS provides integrated real estate management services, including facilities and project management, energy and sustainability services, workplace consulting, real estate services, and capital planning.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent work experience.
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and life safety systems typically used in critical environments.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Maintain positive and professional working relationships with internal and external clients.
• Respond to customer service requests in a timely manner and respond to emergency calls.
• Perform maintenance to maximize system efficiency without disrupting business operations.
• Perform routine maintenance in accordance with BGIS safety policies and procedures.
• Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions.
• Troubleshoot systems, evaluate them, and recommend upgrades.
• Order parts and supplies for maintenance and repairs.
• Solicit proposals for outsourced work.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors to ensure their work meets BGIS and client standards.
• Complete work order requests accurately and on time.
• Escalate issues to the Critical Environment Facility Manager as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
