About The Position

Your primary responsibility is to assist in maintaining continuous up-time of the Data Center. This is accomplished by monitoring critical Data Center support systems and responding to alarms caused by faults and failures. The ideal candidate has a strong operational mindset, understands the importance of uptime, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where safety, documentation, and attention to detail are essential.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in one of the following: electrical and/or mechanical, large generator systems, UPS systems operation, power distribution, mechanical plant operations
  • 2+ years of hands-on data center experience in critical facilities operations, maintenance, or a closely related mission-critical environment
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Software including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Teams
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with building management systems, electrical power monitoring systems, CMMS platforms, and service ticketing systems
  • Knowledge of UPS systems, generators, switchgear, chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, cooling towers, fire alarm systems, and fire suppression systems
  • Experience working with vendors, reviewing service reports, escorting contractors, and supporting maintenance or repair activities
  • Understanding of industry safety standards and best practices, including OSHA, NFPA 70E, and lockout/tagout procedures
  • Technical certifications related to electrical, HVAC, mechanical systems, data center operations, or critical facilities maintenance
  • Technical school, trade certification, military technical training, or related coursework preferred

Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, and support critical facility systems including UPS systems, generators, switchgear, PDUs, ATS/STS equipment, HVAC systems, chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, pumps, cooling towers, fire detection, fire suppression, and building automation systems
  • Visual inspections and readings of equipment and systems to ensure reliable data center operations
  • Respond to alarms on critical systems throughout the facility and trouble shoot and take necessary actions to maintain critical Data Center systems
  • Contact appropriate vendor and/or contractors to respond
  • Perform testing on equipment and systems and complete tasks as part of a preventive maintenance schedule
  • Assist with troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and environmental issues that may impact data center uptime or customer service availability
  • Clean all critical equipment as needed or as part of preventive maintenance and support maintenance tasks performed by vendors
