The Department of Critical Care Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Arizona is seeking a fellowship-trained Critical Care physician with a strong commitment to an academic career. The role combines clinical practice with active participation in education, research, and quality improvement. The physician will work in a recently expanded, 48-bed Intensive Care Unit serving adults with a broad range of medical and surgical critical illnesses at a quaternary hospital. The multidisciplinary team cares for patients with solid organ or stem cell transplants, cardiovascular surgery, advanced heart failure, ECMO, neurosurgery and neurology, and other medical-surgical critical care needs. The attending physician serves as a team leader and is expected to collaborate effectively and uphold Mayo Clinic's values and professionalism. Teaching opportunities include the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine, Internal Medicine Residency, Pulmonary Critical Care Medicine Fellowship, Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant Fellowship, and learners from other disciplines, academic programs, and organizations. Beginning in 2026–2027, the department will have two Anesthesiology Critical Care Fellows. Research is a key departmental focus, and the department is recruiting for expansion positions, including a potential investigator on track for competitive funding for Critical Care research, including clinical trials.
