About The Position

UVA Community Health is seeking a PRN Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a Critical Care team of two physicians and four APPs, with multiple PRN providers at a community hospital that practices evidence based critical care medicine with a diverse and high acuity patient population. This role is within a closed ICU model, with excellent nursing, RT and subspecialty support including cardiology, surgery, IR and neurology. The average census is eight patients a day with three on Ventilators. There are no call responsibilities after the shift is complete.

Requirements

• PA or NP Degree
• Current Virginia medical license and DEA
• Experience in Critical Care medicine
• Ability to achieve full and unrestricted hospital privileges

Nice To Haves

• Procedurally trained in central line and arterial line placement

Responsibilities

• Practice evidence-based critical care medicine.
• Manage a diverse and high acuity patient population.
• Provide care within a closed ICU model.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, RT, and subspecialty support.
• Triage and manage critically ill patients with telemedicine support to ED and hospitalist service.
