About The Position

The Evening Shift Crisis Supervisor provides supervision of unlicensed and licensed crisis clinicians. Oversees workflow, provides leadership and direction to clinicians. Periodically provides joint assessments with unlicensed clinicians to provide support and consultation and monitor clinical effectiveness. Consults with unlicensed staff who recommend admission to higher levels of care to ensure care level is appropriate. Models professionalism and facilitates problem-solving. Provides direct crisis services as needed. Reports problems and issues to Manager of Crisis Services and Director of Acute Care Services. Establishes working relationships with other agencies. This position works evenings, Monday through Friday.

Requirements

  • LPC, LMFT, LCSW or comparable license, plus 5 years of related experience and/or training.
  • Master’s Degree in related field of mental health.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record while employed with Jefferson Center.
  • Meets the requirements of applicable federal, state, and organizational background checks.

Responsibilities

  • Provides on-site consultation and supervision to licensed and unlicensed clinicians.
  • Demonstrates effective oversight and the development of systems to ensure assigned personnel complete routine activities and duties assigned to ensure program integrity.
  • Supports Manager in maintenance and organization of efficient utilization of staff needed to operate a 24/7 Crisis Team.
  • Arranges or provides training of staff to improve clinical crisis intervention skills, and supervision of designated staff.
  • Takes initiative in evaluation of unusual or complex situations involving clients and families in implementing effective interventions and resolutions.
  • Demonstrates competence in de-escalation, assessment and crisis intervention.
  • Practices trauma-informed care approaches to minimize risk of re-traumatization of the consumer and family.
  • Provides education and options regarding available behavioral health supports.
  • Determines clinically appropriate dispositions to the least restrictive environment necessary to ensure safety of the consumer, family and the community.
  • Works cooperatively with all staff to ensure a smooth disposition to the most appropriate level of care.
  • Efficiently monitors and coordinates crisis response activities and operations to ensure safe, smooth and coordinated experience for both clients and staff.
  • Initiates mental health holds when necessary to ensure safety of all concerned.
  • Ensures that clinical documentation is completed promptly and correctly.
  • Interacts with community agencies to improve services for clients, and to enhance the Center’s image as a competent provider of mental health services.
  • Maintains an acceptable attendance record
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
