About The Position

Apalachee Center, Inc. is seeking a Crisis Services Coordinator to provide comprehensive behavioral health services across 8 counties. This role involves functioning as a Mobile Response Team (MRT) crisis counselor, responding via phone and in person to crises at various locations including schools, community sites, and homes. The position requires cooperation with law enforcement and schools, and also includes backup duties as a Central Receiving Facility (CRF) counselor and CRF Admissions Specialist. Additionally, the role supports the Crisis Services Supervisor with administrative tasks.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, psychiatric rehabilitation, or related human services discipline.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in behavioral healthcare, one of which must be in crisis behavioral health services.
  • Must maintain current CPR, CPI and First Aid certifications.
  • Must possess a valid Florida driver’s license and maintain Center approval as an Authorized Driver.

Responsibilities

  • Function as a practicing clinician on the Mobile Response Team.
  • Provides crisis services for on-site and in the community.
  • Coordinates the crisis counseling response per Agency protocol.
  • Complies with all program policies and procedures.
  • Conducts clinical assessments and provide direct clinical intervention and referral services, including “warm hand-off” to other providers as directed in policy.
  • Function as a backup counselor for the Central Receiving Facility (CRF), completing the necessary intake assessments and forms.
  • Function as an administrative assistant to the Crisis Services Supervisor, assisting with tasks that include, but are not limited to, running reports, ordering supplies, completing insurance pre-certifications, unit scheduling, and attending meetings on supervisor’s behalf.
  • Assigns additional tasks to CRF, MRT, and CALM Counselors, as well as CRF Peer Specialist and CRF Admissions Specialists as needed under the direction of the Crisis Services Supervisor.
