About The Position

Crisis Intervention Specialist at Providence Portland Medical Center- Emergency Department On-Call, Variable Schedule The Crisis Intervention Specialist practices in an evaluation/treatment setting to evaluate and treat psychiatric and substance use disorders using a patient-centered and trauma-informed approach. Works both independently and collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Works with patient/support systems to evaluate and diagnose utilizing Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders; assess patient risk to self and/or others, complete and implement risk reduction/mitigation plans to ensure patient and community safety; complete crisis psychosocial assessment and develop care plan for patient including outpatient resources, follow up appointments and inpatient admission if needed. Must be able to work effectively and flexibly in a high paced, demanding, and unpredictable environment. Requirements

  • Master's Degree Social Work from a CSWE Accredited School of Social Work, OR from a school in candidacy status by the council of Social Work Education (CSWE).
  • Upon hire: Oregon Clinical Social Worker License (1) Or Upon hire: Washington Clinical Independent Social Worker License (1)
  • License in states wherever care is delivered
  • 2 years Relevant Social Work experience. May include CSWA experience.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year All EMPL's: Care Management: Experience in acute care settings.
