About The Position

Lenape Valley Foundation (LVF) is seeking a Crisis Hotline Specialist to join their team, playing a vital role in the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. This position offers hands-on experience in mental health and crisis intervention, making it an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or master’s level candidates. The role involves answering crisis calls, assessing caller safety, providing support, and coordinating referrals.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, counseling, nursing, education, or related fields
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Computer proficiency
Ability to meet physical requirements of the role (with or without accommodation)

Responsibilities

Answer incoming 988 Lifeline and Lenape Crisis Hotline calls
Assess caller safety, treatment needs, and referral options
Use crisis intervention skills to engage and support callers
Coordinate warm hand-offs to crisis workers or emergency services
Serve as a resource for hospitals and community providers
Complete all required documentation accurately and promptly
