About The Position

Resolve Crisis Services is seeking a Crisis Clinician to join their Child and Adolescent Crisis Team Intervention Services (CACTIS) team. CACTIS provides crisis intervention and supplementary support in the home, school, and community to children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral health issues. Resolve Crisis Services is a partnership between Allegheny County and UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital, offering support services to residents of Allegheny County 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Candidates must be able to work varying shifts, including daylight, evening, nights, weekends, and holidays. Under the direction of the Crisis Program Coordinator, this position is responsible for assisting in consumer and clinical services, primarily responding to mobile crisis calls within Allegheny County. This includes answering questions, obtaining clinical information, scheduling outpatient evaluations, responding to telephone crises, and documenting all duties. Crisis Clinician levels from Associate, Clin I and Clin II will be considered, with title and pay varying based on education and experience. The Associate level is eligible for a sign-on bonus.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Counseling or Social Work. Other fields of study may be considered with coursework of at least 12 credits in human services and/or relevant mental health experience.
  • Consistent ability to respond calmly and effectively, using good clinical judgment to both psychiatric and medical emergencies.
  • Recovery-oriented interpersonal relations.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCMC)
  • Driver's License

Responsibilities

  • Manages a caseload for the shift
  • Obtaining clinical information in the medical record
  • Provide supportive counseling to consumers to promote stability.
  • Work efficiently and independently in crisis setting
  • Support consumer and negotiates appropriate referral services.
  • Collaborates with the Clin II such case consultations
  • Meets documentation and completes all required paperwork.

  • Responding to telephone calls from consumer(s) community and natural supports
  • Manages crisis situations effectively
  • Complete case reviews
