About The Position

Pawnee Mental Health is a non-profit Certified Community Behavioral Health Center (CCBHC) serving underserved populations in 10 counties in North-Central Kansas. They are seeking a passionate individual to join their team as a Crisis Clinical Manager. This role offers the opportunity to earn bonus pay based on client care expectations and group facilitation. Requirements

  • A Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling or a closely related field from an accredited institutional setting.
  • Licensed by the Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board of the State of Kansas and able to meet the statutory definition of Qualified Mental Health Professional.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills using the English language.
  • Basic personal computer skills.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • A valid driver’s license and automobile insurance maintained in accordance with Pawnee policy and procedure.
  • MUST HAVE A CLINICAL LICENSE

Nice To Haves

  • State-approved QMHP and Case Management training from KDADs (will be completed at first available opportunity after employment if not already obtained).
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Software
  • 1-2 years of supervisory experience
  • Previous experience as a clinician working with clients in acute and crisis situations.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the development and day-to-day functions of the mobile crisis team, daytime crisis team, and transitional CM over the 10-county Pawnee Mental Health service area.
  • Oversee the Transitional Services Team, Outpatient Crisis Team, and Mobile Crisis Team.
  • Provide project director and oversight of grants and EBTs utilized in grant processes.
  • Assist in community care coordination, building relationships, and creating access to resources throughout the service area.
  • Ensure mobile crisis teams respond where the person is (home, work, park, etc.) and connect clients with a crisis clinician if further assessment is warranted.
  • Connect individuals to facility-based care as needed through warm hand-offs and coordinating transportation when and only if situations warrant transition to other locations.
  • Respond without law enforcement or EMS accompaniment unless special circumstances warrant inclusion to support true justice system diversion.
  • Perform essential functions of mobile crisis services including triage/screening (explicitly for suicidality), de-escalation/resolution, coordination with medical and behavioral health services, and crisis planning/follow-up.
  • Provide clinical staffing and support to the 24/7 Crisis Stabilization Unit in conjunction with the Crisis Director and CSU Supervisor, potentially requiring working unit shifts and answering calls after hours for clinical questions.
  • Set the clinical tone for the Crisis Department to ensure mission and vision are executed and supported by all Crisis staff.
  • Recruit, train, and retain appropriate clinical level staffing to meet the needs of the CSU.
  • Recruit, train, and retain appropriate staffing to meet the needs of the mobile crisis team across the regions.
  • Gather and report on data requirements for grant programs and other state reporting needs.
  • Review client incidents with staff as outlined in policy and procedure.
  • Meet administrative and clinical documentation requirements both in terms of content and timeliness.
  • Attend and actively participate in clinical supervision and program staffing, providing input to supervisors and other treatment team members regarding clinical and program issues.
  • Maintain and advance knowledge and skills related specifically to the position or field of work through regular review of pertinent materials or participation in training events as approved by supervisor.
  • Adhere to the standards, policies, and instructions established by PMHS Policy and Procedure and any applicable ethical codes within the field of employment.
  • Review and comply with the Pawnee Code of Conduct outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or other management personnel.
  • Ensure that outcome measurement instruments and other documentation for the grants/EBP are completed in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate and consult with other professionals on behalf of clients.
  • Participate in community initiatives that enhance the integration of care.
  • Aid in access to recommended services such as inpatient hospitalization, substance abuse services, outpatient therapy, Adult Community Services, and other psychiatric services as needed.
  • Meet and comply with all administrative and clinical documentation requirements for clinical staff.
  • Work cooperatively with Pawnee staff and outside agencies in sharing resources and expertise in pursuit of the agency's mission, focusing on access of care for clients that are in or not currently in Pawnee services.
  • Able to carry out all job duties with minimal supervision.
