About The Position

The Division of Politics, Administration, and Justice at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Criminal Justice Part-Time Lecturer Pool. We are particularly interested in faculty to teach in face to face classes scheduled between 8am and 4pm. This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary. Qualified applicants will be contacted when positions are available. Appointments from the part-time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants must be available on very short notice.

Requirements

• Enrolled in a Ph.D. program in criminology, criminal justice, or related field, OR have an M.A. in criminology, criminal justice, or related field, with substantial graduate work.
• Prior teaching experience at the university level.
• Ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students.
• Must be available on very short notice.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must be willing to undergo a background check.
• Must disclose any final administrative or judicial decision determining that they have committed sexual harassment within the last 7 years (after meeting minimum qualifications and before an offer).

Responsibilities

• Teach Criminal Justice courses in face-to-face classes scheduled between 8am and 4pm.
• Be available on very short notice for potential teaching assignments.
• Participate in regular performance evaluations as per the faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement and University Policy Statement 210.070.
• Potentially have syllabi, assignments, and reading material reviewed by the departmental personnel committee.
