The Colorado State Patrol’s Auto Theft Intelligence Coordination Center (ATICC), funded by the Colorado Auto Theft Prevention Authority and housed within the Colorado Metropolitan Auto Theft Task Force, supports auto theft initiatives and partner agencies. ATICC provides tactical, strategic, administrative, investigative, and operational intelligence concerning motor vehicle and related crimes to Colorado State Patrol personnel and external partners. Its work includes identifying crime trends and patterns and supporting intelligence-led policing. The Criminal Intelligence Analyst accesses and analyzes information from databases and local, state, Tribal, federal, and private-sector partners to produce intelligence reports for public safety entities. The analyst uses software applications to extract and assess data, report findings that support investigations and prosecutions, and may testify in court. The position develops intelligence products and guides other analysts in creating clear, concise products addressing auto theft issues. It provides technical and expert guidance to ATICC leadership, supports the development of unit policies and procedures, applies the intelligence cycle to answer key intelligence questions, and may brief partner agencies, command staff, and other officials. The role also advises leadership on developments and tools relevant to auto theft intelligence gathering, analysis, and reporting. Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Work is primarily in an office, with the potential for a flexible arrangement combining office and remote work. Local and statewide travel is required for meetings, operations, and training.
