The Iowa Department of Public Safety (DPS) is seeking to fill a Criminal Intelligence Analyst Senior position with the Iowa Division of Intelligence and Fusion Center. DPS is comprised of the following divisions: - Iowa State Patrol - Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) - Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement - Iowa State Fire Marshal - Division of Professional Development and Support Services - Division of Intelligence and Fusion Center - Administrative Services Division As a Criminal Intelligence Analyst Senior (Criminal Intelligence Analyst 2), it is essential to have the ability to perform operational intelligence analysis by providing direct, critical, front-line intelligence support to ongoing or continuing investigations. This includes critically evaluating information from multiple sources and determining the importance and limitations of each piece of information. The role involves analyzing cellphone data, financial records, computerized databases, open sources, and social media records to provide intelligence support to criminal investigations and to identify criminal activity. Additionally, the position requires conducting cellular telephone analysis and mapping; critically evaluating information, drawing inferences, and applying logic to perform analysis. The ability to accurately prepare written reports and communicate findings is also essential.
