Requirements

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
Active Florida Bar license in good standing
Mimimum 5 years of Prior experience in criminal law, criminal defense, or related litigation preferred
Strong courtroom presence and oral advocacy skills
Excellent legal writing, research, and analytical abilities
Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Client-focused mindset with strong interpersonal and communication skills

Responsibilities

Represent clients in criminal defense matters across state and/or federal courts
Conduct legal research, draft motions, briefs, and other court documents
Manage a caseload from intake through resolution, including trials and hearings
Communicate regularly with clients, keeping them informed on case status and strategy
Negotiate with prosecutors on plea agreements and case dispositions
Appear in court for arraignments, hearings, depositions, and trials
Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff to develop case strategies
